Pickleball
Quick Intro
Pickleball is a fun, fast-growing paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, played on a smaller court with a lightweight ball and paddles. Its simple rules and slower pace make it easy to learn and accessible for all ages and skill levels, while still offering plenty of strategy and movement. Playing pickleball with friends and family encourages friendly competition, laughter, and social connection while providing a solid cardiovascular workout and improving coordination. It’s an engaging way to stay active together, enjoy quality time, and build lasting memories through shared play and teamwork.
Rules of Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis and can be played as singles or doubles. The game is played on a small court with a low net, using solid paddles and a perforated plastic ball. Play begins with an underhand serve hit diagonally into the opponent’s service court, and the ball must clear the non-volley zone, commonly called the “kitchen.” After the serve, both teams must let the ball bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed, a rule known as the double-bounce rule.
Games are usually played to 11 points, and a team must win by at least two points. Points can only be scored by the serving team. Players must avoid volleying the ball while standing in the non-volley zone, and the ball is considered out if it lands outside the court boundaries or fails to clear the net. Pickleball emphasizes quick reactions, strategy, and placement rather than power, making it an accessible and social sport for players of all ages and skill levels.
