It’s an enjoyable way to stay active together, challenge one another in a positive way, and build strong connections through shared movement, learning, and fun on the court.
Rules of Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport played as singles or doubles on a rectangular court divided by a net. Players use rackets to hit a ball over the net and into the opponent’s court, aiming to make it difficult to return. A point begins with a serve, which is hit diagonally into the opposite service box. The server gets two chances to make a legal serve, and rallies continue until one player fails to return the ball within the court boundaries.
Tennis uses a unique scoring system: points go 15, 30, 40, and then game, with players needing to win by two points. Games make up sets, and sets make up a match. Players must keep the ball in bounds, allow only one bounce before returning it, and avoid touching the net during play. Tennis combines endurance, strategy, and precision, making it a physically demanding sport that rewards consistency, footwork, and mental focus.
